31 Years and Still No Franchise QB

Driving to work this morning at 4am, Jason Smith of ESPN all night had Sal Palantonio as a guest, who stated Gruden has again recently been reaching out to Plummer...because....Chris Simms is in danger of not making the team. His post surgery recovery has thrown his mechanics off worse than has been reported. Sal who stated, ''Simms who had one of the greatest long balls in all of the NFL, can't even throw it now'' do to pain from his scar tissue. Simms who has only been able to use his arm, and not able to use his torso in his throwing motion has picked up a hitch that has him performing horribly.

So Simms career may be over, and we traded for a retired QB instead of David Carr. Now David's critics may end up being right, and Carr may never become the QB some thought. But at least right now he is playing.

Once again our QB position is critical. I don't care how good Garcia plays this season, we have no future. Gradkowski is not the answer. At this point, I'm hoping Plummer does report. I'm not a Jake fan in the least bit, but at least he's a temporary future, and better than Bruce.

Next April, if this Brohm kid proves to be the real deal, I'm not opposed to giving up the farm for him. After 31 years all we have to show for is a disrespected Doug Williams, and a wasted opportunity in Steve Young. We have to have a franchise QB someday.
